			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I signed up for this marathon in February and to say the least, training has not been going well and I&#8217;ve been resistant to the person who is trying to guide me through training. There are a few reasons why it hasn&#8217;t been going well&#8230; but mainly its because I just don&#8217;t want to run a stupid marathon.</p>
<p>I was excited when I thought I wasn&#8217;t going to be the only running it but then that fell through. Then I got some very discouraging input from people that I look up to for &#8220;athletic guidance&#8221;.</p>
<p>I spent a lot of money on this race but honestly my heart is not in it, I&#8217;m so busy at work and traveling makes it that much harder. I don&#8217;t know what to do, and I am very frustrated.</p>
<p>Just thought I should share since I haven&#8217;t been posting lately. I&#8217;ll try to start updating again, maybe when I actually show up to CrossFit.</p>

<p>This was a great week. I was really happy with how I did. I wipped myself to death with those double unders but after a few hours they stopped bleeding (lol, jk). I feel that I am improving and becoming more confident in my ability to do CrossFit workouts. Thank you so much for reading. I will promise to update more frequently next week.</p>

<p>Wednesday was fun we did some stretches and a little gymnastics before Megan and I tore up a team wod. The workout was one person does max handstand hold (against the wall, we aren&#8217;t gymnasts) while the other did as many burpees as possible. After burpees, handstands were so hard. Your arms are tired from the burpees and its just not fun trying to hold yourself with that pain. lol It was really fun, team wods are my favorite!</p>
<p>Thursday was an individual wod but it was two things I liked (deadlifts and jumping squats) and one thing I hate (sprints). I did about 112# deadlifts, which i probably could have done more but I was able to keep up with the boys so I was happy, but as soon as I started running there was always someone there to pass me up and that really breaks you down. But whatever I was able to keep up with the guys and 112# is still pretty good. =)</p>
<p>Saturday is a free WOD with my old CF box and I am thinking about going. I haven&#8217;t seen some old friends in a while and that might be a good time to see them. That is if I don&#8217;t drink too much Friday night (tonight)! Hehe yes I drink, I don&#8217;t know if I&#8217;ve ever mentioned that on here before or not.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I think the light bulb in my head just turned on. Ever since graduation I have been worried about the future. Will I be here, will I be there. Where am I going in life, etc. Well I started reading this book my dad gave me and I stubbled upon a fantastic chapter which I will let you read yourself below&#8230; its great!</p>
<p><strong>Learn to Live in the Present Moment</strong></p>
<p>To a large degree, the measure of our peace of mind is determined by how much we are able to live in the present moment. Irrespective of what happened yesterday or last year, and what may or may not happen tomorrow, the present moment is where you are &#8212; always!</p>
<p>Without question, many of us have mastered the neurotic art of spending much of our lives worrying about a variety of things &#8212; all at once. We allow past problems and future concerns to dominate our present moments, so much so that we end up anxious, frustrated, depressed, and hopeless. On the flip side, we also postpone our gratification, our stated priorities, and our happiness, often convincing ourselves that &#8220;someday&#8221; will be better than today. Unfortunately, the same mental dynamics that tell us to look toward the future will only repeat themselves so that &#8220;someday&#8221; never actually arrives. John Lennon once said, &#8220;Life is what&#8217;s happening while we&#8217;re busy making other plans.&#8221; When we&#8217;re busy making &#8220;other plans,&#8221; our children are busy growing up, the people we love are moving away and dying, our bodies are getting out of shape, and our dreams are slipping away. In short, we miss out on life.</p>
<p>Many people live as if life were a dress rehearsal for some later date. It isn&#8217;t. In fact, no one has a guarantee that he or she will be here tomorrow. Now is that only time we have, and the only time that we have any control over. When our attention is in the present moment, we push fear from our minds. Fear is the concern over events that might happen in the future &#8212; we won&#8217;t have enough money, our children will get into trouble, we will get old and die, whatever.</p>
<p>To combat fear, the best strategy is to learn to bring your attention back to the present. Mark Twain said, &#8220;I have been through some terrible things in my life, some of which actually happened.&#8221; I don&#8217;t think I can say it any better. Practice keeping your attention on the hear and now. Your efforts will pay great dividends.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Okay get ready because I am about to update you from the past week and a half!</p>
<p>Sorry I&#8217;ve been so behind but lots been going on in my life and I&#8217;ve just crashed when I get home and don&#8217;t update. Work is pretty slow today so I have time now to bring you all up to speed.</p>
<p>August 23rd &#8211; Monday<br />
Fight Gone Bad: I hadn&#8217;t done fight gone bad since my very first CrossFit workout ever! Now I am proud to say that I didn&#8217;t feel like crap after, like I did the first time. But I wasn&#8217;t as happy with my improvement either. I got about 160 or so total for the three rounds. I am glad Fight Gone Bad 5 is coming up because my goal is 200. Ya, thats right 200, might be a little high but its worth a shot right???!!!</p>
<p>August 24th &#8211; Tuesday<br />
Snatch Work &amp; 50 GHD situps</p>
<p>Snatch was whatever, nothing special for the day, but the more I work at it the better I will get for sure. Feeling good from FGB the day before. I am not a big fan of GHD situps, I don&#8217;t like that I go back so far and I always feel like I am about to hurt myself. My back hurts the most out of everything after just 10-15 of them. It really bothered me after 50, I also get really dizzy and light headed. I try to breathe but I think its the whole upside down thing that sucks. Anyways, we didn&#8217;t have to do them for time and that was good, because I don&#8217;t think I could have done it any faster.</p>
<p>August 25th &#8211; Wednesday<br />
C&amp;J work &amp; Tabata Kettlebell swings</p>
<p>Right now I&#8217;ve not been in the most positive mood and when I think of this day I think to myself  &#8220;Man I&#8217;m not good at anything&#8221;. Kettlebells really stink for me, ever since that awful day of Helen where I broke down, cried like a little girl, and felt sorry for myself. I am trying to get better and the more I work with KBs the better and more comfortable I will get.</p>
<p>August 26th &#8211; Thursday<br />
AMRAP 10 min<br />
5 Thrusters<br />
10 Burpees<br />
20 DUs</p>
<p>Thrusters I think I did them at 45# (but it might have been more), I finished four rounds. Ya that doesn&#8217;t sound like a lot but you try doing this work out with my double under talent. You get so frustrated not being efficient when you are tired, not to mention it really stings when you get whipped by the rope. Thrusters were no problem, but any more weight and I would have also struggled with that. My burpees are no different than normal so, I am going to say that I was happy with this workout. I worked hard, I tried doing DUs the whole time but knew I wouldn&#8217;t have finished the last round if I hadn&#8217;t switched to singles the last round. And I wanted at least four rounds.</p>

<p>August 30 &#8211; Monday<br />

15 box jumps</p>
<p>Even though im not very efficient at box jumps i liked this wod. The pushups weren&#8217;t &#8220;that&#8221; bad but I also wasn&#8217;t clapping, just getting my hands off the floor. I&#8217;m a big fan of slam balls because they seem easy enough for me. Box jumps make me so tired for some reason, like I can&#8217;t breath when Im jumping or something. I also can&#8217;t do them consistently jumping up and down like its not high. I always have to stop after I land and then jump. I am working on it but its a work in progress ya know?</p>
<p>August 31 &#8211; Tuesday<br />
Snatch Balance<br />
5&#215;1</p>
<p>3 rounds:<br />
10 OH squats<br />
50 Double Unders (150 Singles)</p>
<p>I did 150 singles because I had a long day and I didn&#8217;t want to have one more thing frustrate me during the wod like double unders. This also gave me confidence because I kept up with everyone during the workout. The OH squats weren&#8217;t heavy (45#) but my wrist were hurting so bad both from the WOD and the snatch balance work.</p>
<p>Okay! So I am up to date. Sorry this entry is so depressing, after looking it over I see that I am so critical of myself, nothing is ever good enough. I will promise to start looking at things in a brighter light but I am too lazy to change this entry now. lol Thanks for reading!</p>

<p>So as you can see, there has been some leg intensive wods and my legs are ready to fall off! Today I&#8217;m going to try to focus on arm things and tonight is another running wod =/&#8230; I might have to get a wheelchair to get around work, people are starting to think I&#8217;m weird because I&#8217;m waddling around!</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>First off I want to brag. I made paleo spaghetti this weekend and it was so awesome!!!! I&#8217;m really proud of myself!</p>
<p>Okay now I can talk about the wod yesterday. We started out with max snatch which I didn&#8217;t even know we were going to do because all I noticed on the website was 1000m row. After that, I couldn&#8217;t think of anything else. That C2 Rower is very intimidating.</p>
<p>Max Snatch 63#; wrist was really hurting and I couldn&#8217;t get stable at the squat part, definitely think I could have done more. I&#8217;ll be prepared for next time.</p>
<p>1000m Row; 4:27.5&#8230; it sucked, my butt was on fire because it was so sore. I don&#8217;t know what I am doing but I feel other peoples butts don&#8217;t hurt as much as mine does. I also don&#8217;t think I row right. There is nothing about rowing I enjoy, except maybe when its over but still my butt hurts so bad that I can&#8217;t enjoy that either! lol I&#8217;m glad thats over maybe that means we won&#8217;t have to do it again for a while. =)</p>
<p>So a few of my friends are starting their training for a 50 mile run. I am going to try to stick with their training plan but not run the actual 50 mile race. I think I might just go and be &#8220;team mom&#8221; for them. I&#8217;m low on cash so I should be saving instead of doing crazy things like run 50 miles. lol Anyways yesterday was the first day and I can definitely feel it in my legs today. 9 rounds of 1 min on 1 min off all out running</p>

I think I only did 2 attempts at a weight I could do for sure. I knew what weight I wanted to get 102# and I even increased it to 107#!!! My new C&amp;J PR! Yay!</p>
<p>CrossFit has been great lately. I have been working hard and I have really been trying to eat better. I am cooking more at home, and making some awesome dishes!!! Things are really looking up again! =)</p>
